BELLEVUE BATTLE WITH ACTON PAYS OFF

By Admin

Bellevue win a well deserved first point on the board.

Congratulations to Bellevue after they gained their first-ever point in the North East Wales League last weekend at the 24th attempt.
After 23 successive losses in which they had scored 14 goals and conceded 278, the newcomers to the league this season got off the mark with a 3-3 draw against Acton.
And it could have been even better for the multi-national team, launched in Wrexham last summer for players from black and ethnic minority groups, as they led 3-2 until conceding a 90th minute equaliser.
It was a very popular result throughout the league as Bellevue have won a lot of friends for their sporting attitude, never-give-up mindset and good sense of humour.
Their scorers against Acton were Damian Walker (2) and Bruno Sousa, with Callum Parlour, Tom Duckett and Joe Jarvis salvaging the visitors a draw.
Also in action last Saturday were table-toppers Plas Madoc, who thrashed Flint Mountain 5-1 thanks to four goals from Nicky Williams and a Keegan Jakovlevs single, Sean Wilkes replying.
Matty Holmes, Richard Lawrence and Adam Pugh netted two apiece in Penyffordd Lions' 8-2 caning of Caerwys, Liam Hughes and Rob Salisbury with one each.
Halkyn United versus Bradley Park ended four-apiece. James Graham (2), Josh Richardson and Ryan Oldfield split the home goals, Kirk Ratcliffe (2), Josh Underwood and Chris Jones for Park.
Darren Evans and Sam Fowles bagged a brace apiece as Connah's Quay Nomads U18s whipped Mold Town United 4-0, while Jack Murphy (2), Blake Robinson and Liam Schofield did the damage for Airbus UK Broughton U18s in a 4-1 beating of Mostyn Dragons, Dillon Garner responding.
