OFFA ATHLETIC INFLICT FIRST DEFEAT ON MAESGWYN.

In the only league game played due to the weather, Offa Athletic inflicted the first defeat on Maesgwyn in an 11 goal thriller.

Chris Baddeley opened the scoring for Maesgwyn in the 9th minute and added another after 20 minutes, Mark Jones then put the leaders three up with a goal in the 28th minute. Scott Evans then pulled a goal back for Offa after 37 minutes to make the score 3-1 to Maesgwyn at half time.
Chris Baddeley then netted his hat trick just after the re-start but then Offa woke up and Alistair Gibson, Luke Harrington and Gibson again, levelled the score at 4-4, in the 74th minute Phil Stott put Offa in front for the first time only for Lee Griffiths to level again for Maesgwyn. In a tense finish Sean Merryweather struck from the penalty spot in the 90th minute of the game to secure the points for the home side, the final score was 6-5 to Offa Athletic.
In the only Horace Wynne Cup game Rhostyllen defeated Flint Mountain 7-3.
