CPD Caerwys FC sadly announce the death of Life President Glyn Brooks who passed away peacefully at Ysbyty Glan Clwyd on Friday 19th October.
Glyn (63) had been battling leukemia and also had a heart condition.
Glyn moved to Caerwys in 1994. He was a keen Everton fan and Welsh Rugby follower who became heavily involved with Caerwys Football Club and turned out as a player until bad knees forced him to stop in his early 40’s.
Glyn was a member of the Caerwys squad which lifted the Veterans Umbro Cup played at Rushden & Diamonds FC back in 1998.Glyn also managed the Reserves Team in the Clwyd League in the 90’s and he also managed the Summer League team when they finished runners up in 2002 and won the 7 a side tournament.
Glyn took over as Club Chairman before the Football Club was elevated to the Welsh Alliance League back in 2000. He later became Club President and was made a Life President in 2017.
Glyn will never be forgotten for his support on match days particularly with his humour. He was a well liked and popular character and had served on the Town Council for six years, his highlight being made Mayor in 2002.
Glyn who hailed from Bodfari returned to live there in 2008 but kept his close ties with Caerwys and the club. Glyn was one of the few original members of Caerwys Male Voice Choir and a regular with the Royal Oak Cavaliers Dominoes Team. He was also a keen golfer and a former member of Abergele and previously Denbigh Golf Club until he became ill.

Glyn will be truly missed by all who knew him and our sincere condolences go to his wife Jane and all the family.
