NORTH EAST WALES FOOTBALL LEAGUE – REPORTS NOVEMBER 13
Premier Division
Coedpoeth United 1 Chirk Town 3
Premier leaders Town made it lucky 13 unbeaten after Nicky Williams’ hat-trick secured a 3-1 win at stubborn Coedpoeth.

Williams boosted his league total to 20 goals and made it 29 in all competitions with another great individual performance.

Chirk were slow out of the blocks and Coedpoeth took the lead after 15 minutes with a David Hughes shot that gave keeper Jonny Mitchell-Conlan no chance.

The away team slowly but surely played their way into the game, but Coedy keeper David Bromley kept them at bay with smart saves from Williams, Aaron Davies and Tom Freeman.

Three minutes before half time it was talisman Williams who equalised with a bicycle kick from a Freeman cross to send the teams in level at the break.

The second half saw a much improved performance from the Taverners and it was that man Williams again who stunned the crowd with another extraordinary bicycle kick from the edge of the area to make it 2-1.

Town were reduced to 10 men on the hour after Jordan Dooley was shown a straight red.

The back four of Matthew Cooke, Brian Wood, Callum Taylor and Steve Roberts stood firm and the visitors grabbed a third on 81 minutes after a Freeman free kick was parried into the path of Williams who tapped in for the hat-trick and secured the points.

Town are now seven points clear at the summit.

Hawarden Rangers 4 FC Queen’s Park 2
Jack Williams and Aaron North both scored twice for a Hawarden side which will be delighted with this victory over the always hard to beat Queen’s Park.

Barry Torrence gave the Park a 16th minute lead from the penalty spot, but Williams struck twice to make it 2-1 Rangers at half time.

North made it 3-1 on 76 minutes, but soon after Jack Hanley hit back for the visitors.

Hawarden had Thomas Swinburne dismissed for a second yellow card on 82 minutes, but the hosts stayed in front and clinched the spoils when North netted again deep into added time.

Mynydd Isa Spartans 2 Halkyn and Flint Mountain 7
Third-place Halkyn and Flint Mountain piled on the goals at Snowden Avenue.

The visitors led just 3-2 at the interval, Sam Jones, Louis Davies and Peter Martin their scorers, Kallum Pierce and Daniel Wynne replying for Spartans.
