NORTH EAST WALES FOOTBALL LEAGUE REPORTS – NOVEMBER 13

Top Mark Uniforms Premier Cup
FC Queen’s Park 5 Penyffordd Lions 6
An 11-goal thriller maybe, but a bit of a nightmare for the two managers defence-wise.

FC Queen’s Park boss Dave Evans was highly disappointed to exit the Premier Cup and concede six at home.

He said: “We crashed out of the league cup after an horrific day of freak goals, poor defending and questionable decisions.

“Penyffordd absolutely played their part in this 90 minute goal feast but the Park will be bitterly disappointed as they analyse the goals they conceded.

“To score five at home and not go through is a tough one to take for a team that is notorious at not giving away early Christmas presents.

“All the best to Penyffordd in your semi final.”

Barry Torrence (2), Tony Jones, Dylan Jones and Liam Davies shared the Park goals, but the Lions won it thanks to Ben Hughes (2, 1 pen), Paul Messham (2), Marcus Davies and Edward Brown.

At the 90-minute stage, it was 4-4, so the tie was won dramatically in added time.

Caerwys 4 Sychdyn 3
In a terrific battle of the top-two, Caerwys edged a seven-goal cracker to moved four points clear at the summit.

The unbeaten leaders trailed 3-1, but fought back heroically to snatch victory with two-goal star Stephen Lee bagging an added time decider.

A Lewis Harrison own goal gave Sychdyn a fifth-minute lead, but a reply from Lee on 19 ensured it stood 1-1 at the break.

Things looked good for the visitors when Nathan Large and Brandon Jones struck to put them 3-1 ahead with 66 on the clock.

However, two goals in as many minutes from Ryan Davies and Harry Roberts squared the match before Lee won it late on.

CPD Gronant 2 Saltney Ferry 2
Ferry led through Ryan Barrett’s 13th minute goal before Gronant turned the tables when Gyorgy Szabo and Daniel Price scored on 77 and 88.

However, the visitors were not finished and salvaged a point when Ben Barratt levelled two minutes into overtime.
