NORTH WALES FOOTBALL REPORTS – WEDNESDAY, APRIL 12

Congratulations to Malcolm Wareham and his FC Queen’s Park reserve side as they have been crowned champions of the North East Wales League Reserve Division for the 2022-23 season.
They still have two games left to finish as invincibles and go the whole season undefeated and with the League Cup final to come, this could be a very special season for the side.

NORTH EAST WALES FOOTBALL LEAGUE PREMIER DIVISION

FC Queen’s Park 7 Brymbo 3
Five goals in the final 20 minutes earned Queen’s Park the victory which put them top of the Premier Division tonight.

Dave Evans’ side trailed 3-2 at half time to the ever-spirited bottom side Brymbo, but the Park’s staying power eventually won the day.

Richard Jones nudged the home side in front on 17 minutes, but Jake Young and Ellis Trubshaw responded quickly to give the Steelmen a 2-1 lead after 24.

Young struck again for 3-1 and the Park were glad of a Mike Latham penalty to see them just a goal down at the interval.

It remained 3-2 to the visitors until the 69th minute and a shock was on the cards until Callum Roberts equalised and scored again on 74, Liam Davies adding another in between to make it 5-3. Three goals in five minutes.

The Park were finally in control and Davies and Latham added further goals before the end.
