NORTH EAST WALES LEAGUE MIKE BEECH MEMORIAL TROPHY 2022-23

As a result of Rhydymwyn’s first and second teams folding last month, Caerwys manager Dan Sands didn’t hang about signing some of those without a club.
Sands boosted his first team squad with seven new faces for the home supporters to see in Saturday’s Mike Beech Trophy group clash.
It was a very one-sided first half as Caerwys moved the ball about well when going forward.
Lewis Harrison opened the scoring after nine minutes when he curled a free kick from 20 yards around the wall, catching the keeper out at his near post.
Several chances went begging before a Josh Hughes header on 14 minutes gave keeper Adams no chance.
Stephen Nelson missed a couple of opportunities before Connor Gorman’s far post tap-in on 28 minutes made it 3-0.
Michael Guest, who looks to be a good capture down the left wing, added a fourth before the break. Indeed It could have been double figures by half-time.
In fairness, the visitors played much better in the second half and Caerwys keeper Kai Sutcliffe did well to tip a goal bound effort over the bar before goals from left back Gorman (71) and a header from centre back Nathan Swann-Jones (84) reflected the home team’s dominance.
