North East Wales Veterans League – victories for Ruthin, Rhydymwyn, Mynydd Isa, Deeside and Denbigh

PREMIER DIVISION
Connah’s Quay Nomads Vets 2 Ruthin Town Vets 6
Matthew Lowe and Danny Porter scored two goals apiece as Ruthin launched their season with a cracking 6-2 win at Nomads.

William Jones and Simon Pike also found the target for the away side, while Nomads benefited from own goals by Danny Jellicoe and Stephen Roberts.

Brickfield Rangers Vets 0 Rhydymwyn Vets 2
Craig Worthington and substitute David Jones bagged the goals which earned three points on the road for Rhyd.

Worthington broke the deadlock on 43 minutes from a Richard Hughes assist, then on 78 minutes Jon Kenworthy set up Jones for number two.

Mynydd Isa Veterans 7 FC Queen’s Park Vets 0
Stephen Henderson (2), Wes Brereton, Michael Adamson, Rich Dermott, Adam Walker and Jon Hutchinson shared the goals for the dominant home side.

CHAMPIONSHIP DIVISION
Deeside Dragons Vets 11 Mochdre Vets 4
Carl Wilson (2), Shane Parry (2), Dan Burke and Dan Kemp were among the scorers for the double-figure Dragons.

Jason Owen was one of the Mochdre marksmen.

Many of the scorers are marked down as N/A on the Cymru Football App which is of no real use to anyone.

White Bear Vets 2 Denbigh Wanderers Vets 5
Victory on away territory for Denbigh Wanderers thanks to the net-finding efforts of Gari Thomas (2), Dewi Jones, David Kelly and Geraint Jones.

After a delayed kick off due to a crash on the A55 and conceding after 20 seconds, Wanderers reacted well and came away with a deserved three points.
Kelvin Davies and Tom Levy replied for the Mancot-based hosts.
